Jewellery. Hot off the saw bench! Star of David

2013 was an exciting year for experimenting and it's hard to believe I have only been designing jewellery for nine month.

Unlike my drawings it's satisfying to do a design in one or two goes and hand it over to someone else( David Baggaley) to make and deliver.

I always wait with baited breathe to see the finished piece.

So here is our latest commission:

A modern take on the Star of David

A very small adventure. miniature art.

A little adventure to test me and to see what exactly I can do with my favourite medium!
This little person is already sold and two more commissioned.
Looking forward to showing you more.
He is 22mmx 27 mm

Dogs a gogo!

Unfortunately my chest infection is not only back it is back with a vengeance with a secondary bacterial infection I feel 2014 is rushing past me!

Whilst I bore myself silly using our field times like this it is simply a godsend, funnily enough the dogs don't care they revel in the relative freedom and the chance to pick their playmates.

You get used to the friendships though it is sometimes hard to keep up with the teenagers as they change friends like no other.  However the dogs do love to keep us on our toes and choose to play with someone different with hilarious results.

Pugs chasing vizslas, pugshiht's chasing everyone and four chasing each other though you never know who out of the four is chasing who.

Chance was chasing Martha until Martha decided to chase chance. Moo chased Lola who was stalking truffle only to be stalked by fluffy.  Poppy as ever had Roly on his tail before Lola dumped truffle to join in therefore fluffy had to also join in. Moo unsuccessfully tried to initiate play with pixie only to try herding her like she does with Isabelle again unsuccessfully.

Harvey by now had the yellow ball so Montanna had to keep a close eye on him waiting to strike only to then leave it behind that game only fun if the dog plays rug over the ball!

Lottie ever the live wire swung from playing with speedy Chance and Moo completely dumping fluffy today.

Bamboozled yet?!

Well soon all settled the guys who were in the quieter bunch had already settled into the heated van for a kip whilst the third gang started to mouse hunt( utterly unsuccessfully I'm delighted to say) earnestly and came up trumps by finding Murphy's missing booties!

The guys and girls never cease to amaze me with their fluid moods, friendships and partnerships. Sirus behaved totally out of character and was horribly grumpy with lovely dexter yet without doubt we know something will be up so we wait to hear why he might behave so out of character if not a health check needed.

Ember is learning to play at first with a muzzle so she can't play bite then naked once she has settled enough to play nicely.  You can see her growing up and learning the rules week by week and it's lovely to see.

All in all a fabulous fun relentless play at the field even the lame, gimpy or steady guys had a busy safe morning busy with their own little delights.

So whilst many a time I don't get excited to go to the field I have to say today had been sheer entertainment!

A little cheeky drawing. Miniature art

One if my favourite birds are the little blue tits so when I pulled the cracker at Christmas and out popped a tiny frame my new project was born!

I pulled out the ACEO cards trimmed them down( badly measured I did the little soul a little too big for the frame).

Here is the result: Cheeky so named after the book I still have from my childhood of a blue tit called cheeky.

Pure coloured pencil
25 x 32mm

Second miniature art piece a Lurcher commission

All because of an old silver frame!

Once the reference was chosen I decided why on earth not though I was a little worried at drawing a brindle!

Very happy with result, they are unbelievable and it has made me appreciate my good eyesight even more.

Coloured pencil 25mm x 31mm

Prepared to be shocked

I have really struggled to have something to say. Now anyone who has met me, walked past me or knows me well this is something I do not normally suffer from! The problem has been self censorship going wild in my head. It is very difficult to write honestly if you know it will affect or upset people, to say something that whilst not new to you and indeed you have been here so many times before you get deja vu yet for that person it is a steep learning curve. It also means you then stop learning so I shut up and watched. Recently my life has been odd. A few simple though incredibly frustrating incidents has turned my relative security upside down. You toddle along in life with your own filter turned on then bop the filter is turned off and you see life for real. It isn't always pretty it definitely isn't fair and it is just the way it is so my filter is back on but it is no longer soft focus! Whilst sitting here I am watching a wonderful man called Ray Coppinger. He is a dog professor. I love to hear him talk, the seminar was the best I had been too and it reminded me just what dogs are. I haven't met many type of dog really. I met our kind of dogs, working lurchers and terriers and gundogs, a few sled dogs and of course herding dogs. I don't meet stray dogs anymore, no latch key dogs and definitely not those dogs around the world that are in many ways true dogs. We all forget just how hard life really is in our pampered though stressful lives. I often wonder when I am home just how benefitial our relationships with dogs are we are after all dictators in many ways yet when I am away from home and out with our guys running, jumping, playing and living such wonderful lives I don't doubt how benefitial their lives can be. Do dogs have moments like I have when their filters and security are removed by events out of their control? Of course they do. How do they cope? Like us it depends on the dogs themselves. Saturday was Autumns first day as Nanny Autumn. If only you had seen Elsie and Stans faces?! They were bouncing from 'yeh out for fun' to 'hang on a minute just who are we going with' and back and forth it went. It swung even more once we asked them to jump into the strange car though the adrenalin and fun was propelling their legs forth! Just because they had met Autumn doesn't mean they trusted everything else, I have no doubt if Autumn had been in the van they would have barely given it a thought. I miss the learning. I of course learn stuff everyday with the dogs whether I want to or not haha but I long to learn more as is Nanny Sam so that is our challenge. We have Holly training us and that is so exciting as she works with us to train your guys useful and useless fun things. Then I am aiming to learn more about tracking, with my two in my endless quest to tire them out and fulfill their endless drive. Then there is the theory.... My brain appears to have a fault....I recon when I learn something new something old falls out somewhere so I am gonna refresh some of that old learning hoping it will make some of the useless stuff fall out. Right my mutterings are coming to an end. I am actually looking forward to updating you on some of the doggy comings and goings, I can't promise it will be funny I definitely can't promise it will be interesting it will just be mutterings and hopefully not munterings!
